Parent, Loved One & Sibling Support

Parent(s), caregiver(s) and/or sibling(s) can meet with one of our Registered Psychotherapists or Registered Counselling Therapists to learn how to best support their child (of any age) living with an eating disorder. Together, we will work through overcoming obstacles, building coping strategies, managing emotions and protecting against caregiver burnout.


Clinical Supervision for RPs and RCTs

Ashley Ticknor, RCT, RP, provides case consultation, live supervision (if applicable), reviewing video or audiotapes of the supervisee’s therapy sessions (if applicable), reviewing clinical notes (if applicable), teaching and/or reviewing relevant theories, therapy modalities, and research related to supervised practice, problem-solving, and exploration as a clinician.

Dawn has graduated from Western University with an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and went on to complete her Master of Arts Degree in Counselling Psychology. She utilizes various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Family Based Treatment (FBT), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). Dawn is committed to supporting her clients through their experiences using a compassionate and client centred approach.

Jessica graduated from Brescia University College with a Bachelor of Science in Foods and Nutrition, & Honors Specialization in Nutrition and Dietetics. She completed her dietetic practicum program with Nova Scotia Health. Jessica has expanded on her knowledge of eating disorders through working with Change Creates Change during her undergraduate studies, and completing a placement in an eating disorder day program during her internship with Nova Scotia Health. Jessica believes in a non-diet approach and is passionate about reducing weight stigma and helping folks heal their relationship with food and their bodies. Jessica aims to help individuals and families feel empowered in eating disorder recovery and seeks to collaborate with clients in setting individualized goals through nutrition counseling.

Andrea graduated from Acadia University’s Nutrition and Dietetics program and completed her internship with Nova Scotia Health Authority. She spent the first 8 years of her career working in Maine, USA where she gained a variety of dietetic experiences, and in 2019 joined a weight-inclusive nutrition private practice where she was able to build counseling skills and support those struggling with disordered eating, eating disorders and body image. She returned to Nova Scotia with her family in early 2021 and shortly thereafter joined the CCC team. She provides nutrition counseling with empathy and understanding, aiming to foster autonomy and self compassion for each of her clients and their families.
